White Label AI Agent Platform: 10 Things to Check Before You Resell

A white label AI agent platform lets you sell AI agents under your own brand, and the right one goes beyond a chatbot that answers questions. Before you resell, check ten things: branding, client workspaces, knowledge sources, API actions, MCP support, lead capture and handoff, channels, data and hosting, pricing and usage, and support. This checklist explains what to look for in each and shows how Robofy handles it, so you can compare any platform against it.

Key takeaways

  • A chatbot answers from content. An AI agent also acts: it can call APIs, capture leads and hand off to a person.
  • Ask for a live test of each capability, not a feature list.
  • Check what is included in the plan you would actually buy: channels, custom domain and usage differ by plan.
  • Pick a platform that fits the clients you serve, because switching later means retraining every agent.

This guide is published by Robofy and uses Robofy’s own capabilities as examples. Check any provider’s current documentation, since features and plans change.

Chatbot or AI agent?

A RAG chatbot answers questions from a website, documents or an FAQ. An AI agent starts from the same knowledge but adds tools: it can look up an order, check availability or create a ticket through your client’s systems, send events to a workflow and escalate to a person. If your clients’ customers ask “where is my order?” or “can I book Friday?”, you need an agent. Our page on white label AI agents lists these capabilities in one place.

The 10-point checklist

1. Branding and custom domain

Clients should see your logo, colours and domain, not the provider’s. Ask whether the custom domain is included in the plan you would buy. On Robofy, a custom domain is available on every paid reseller plan.

2. Separate client workspaces

Each client needs their own workspace so content, settings and conversations stay apart. This also makes billing and offboarding simpler.

3. Knowledge sources

Check what an agent can learn from: a website, PDFs, spreadsheets, private documents. Robofy’s Knowledge Agent works from websites, PDFs, spreadsheets and private docs.

4. API actions (function tool calling)

This is what turns a chatbot into an agent. Ask whether you can register a client’s API endpoint as a tool, how the agent decides when to use it, and whether you can test it before it goes live. In Robofy’s function tool calling, you build each tool in four steps and a tool cannot be saved until a live test passes. The endpoint must be reachable over public HTTPS.

5. MCP and backend integrations

If a client already exposes tools through an MCP server, you want to reuse them. Robofy’s MCP server integration lets you add a server, verify the connection, review the tools it exposes and enable them for a specific agent.

6. Webhooks and workflow events

Agents should be able to notify other systems. Robofy’s webhooks send Lead Capture, Human Handoff and Session End events to your HTTPS endpoint, with optional HMAC-SHA256 signing.

7. Lead capture and human handoff

Ask how leads are stored, who is notified and how a conversation reaches a person. AI lead capture turns conversations into structured records, and human handoff sends your team the customer details, the reason and an AI summary.

8. Channels

Check which channels are included: website widget, WhatsApp, and voice. For Robofy, WhatsApp integration and setup support, and voice AI agents, are included on every reseller plan.

9. Data, hosting and compliance

Ask where data is hosted, which AI models are used, and whether a data processing agreement is available. Robofy accounts are hosted in Europe (Ireland), and a DPA is available to download and sign in the Trust Center.

10. Pricing and usage

Compare the annual or monthly fee, how many client licences it covers, and how usage such as messages or voice minutes is charged. See the current white label pricing before quoting a client, and our guide to how much to charge for AI chatbot services for margins.

Questions to ask any provider

  • Can I see an agent call a real API in a live demo?
  • What happens to my clients if I stop reselling?
  • Which plan includes the channels and custom domain I need?
  • How do you handle data deletion and sub-processors?
  • What support do I get, and how fast?

You can start with a 14-day free trial on Robofy, with no credit card required, and test these points yourself in the white label reseller program.

Frequently asked questions

What is a white label AI agent platform?

A platform that lets you resell AI agents under your own brand. The agents answer from a client’s knowledge and can also take actions such as calling APIs, capturing leads and handing off to a person.

How is it different from a white label chatbot?

A chatbot mainly answers questions. An agent adds actions and workflows. Many platforms, including Robofy, run both, so you can start with a chatbot and add actions later.

Do I need a developer to use API actions?

You need to know the client’s API (the endpoint, the fields and the authentication). Building the tool in Robofy needs no connector code, but someone must understand the API being connected.

Can I try a platform before I commit?

Ask for a trial and test the capabilities that matter for your clients. Robofy offers a 14-day free trial with no credit card required.
